The Accelleran software architecture has been designed to achieve the greatest possible optimisation when running in embedded environments. This means that there is processing headroom available for Multi-Access Edge Computing. This, together with the virtualisation capabilities of the architecture makes the deployment of Multi-Access Edge Computing a real possibility in our Small Cells. Many of the Multi-Access Edge Computing use cases are well suited to benefit from the advantageous characteristics of Small Cells, such as those related to Proximity Services and Internet of Things over wireless local area technologies. MEC can provide interesting value-added service opportunities for new entrants. The following are some of the MEC use cases that could be exploited using our Small Cells:
